A Walk in the Harbor | Oslo, Norway
Oslo, Norway • Virtual Tour
See how the first rays of the sun wake up the beautiful harbor of Oslo.
Let's start a journey through some of the key locations of the harbor of Norway's capital. This virtual tour navigates through 6 locations at the tip of Oslofjord, from Oslo Rådhus and Akershus Castle to the Untuned Bell and the Statue of Tordenskjold. Virtual tour photography like this is also something I offer commercially for hotels, venues, and businesses.
Calm and Quiet or Busy and Noisy
There's always something happening at the harbor of Oslo. In the early morning hours, as you experience in the virtual tour, the piers and streets are completely empty. Yet something breaks the silence: the squeaking of seagulls and the sound of waves hitting the shore. To experience that, you have to get up as early as I did when I created this tour. Because soon, the harbor fills with the people of Oslo rushing to work.
A Node in the City
This part of Oslo connects everything. To the right, looking towards the sea, lies Aker Brygge, a famous pier lined with Nordic restaurants and a shopping center. Ferries from the smaller islands of Oslofjord, Hovedøya, Langøyene, Gressholmen, Lindøya, and Nakholmen, all arrive and depart from here. Many Oslo residents cross this spot every single day, whether out of routine or just to enjoy its particular vibe. Sightseeing ships operate here too, making it equally popular with locals and tourists alike.
