An Ideal Place to Live?
Depends entirely on who you are. If you need crowds, cinemas, and a supermarket around the corner, probably not. Lofoten is scattered with small farms, remote houses, and tiny settlements separated by long stretches of nothing but nature. The only two towns of any real size are Svolvær and Leknes. Everything else is smaller, quieter, and further away than you'd expect.
If you love isolation, plan your shopping in advance, and would happily trade city noise for mountain silence, then yes. Lofoten might be exactly the place for you.
